Our school day is structured around a clear timetable. We have set times for learning sessions, activities and lunch. Understanding the bell times helps students get the most out of each part of the day.

It's important for students to arrive on time each day. If your child is running late, please contact our front office.

Play, Eat, Learn

At Tarro Public School, students play before sitting down to eat during their school breaks.

This approach gives children the opportunity to move, socialise and enjoy their playtime before coming together for a calm, supervised eating period. We have found that students are more settled and ready to focus on their food when it is time to eat.

Teachers supervise students while they eat and encourage them to take the time they need, make healthy choices and pack away responsibly. Individual health, dietary and additional needs are always considered, and students can speak with a staff member if they need access to their food at another time.

Kiss and Drop

Playground supervision begins at 8:30 am each morning. For student safety, children should not arrive at school before this time unless they are attending Before School Care.

Our morning Kiss and Drop routine helps students begin the day calmly and independently. Families say goodbye at the school gate, and students make their way into the playground, where staff are ready to welcome and support them. This also allows teachers to prepare classrooms and learning for the day ahead.

Parents and carers who need to speak with the office are always welcome to enter through the designated office access. If your child needs additional support at morning drop-off, please contact us so we can work with your family to put a supportive plan in place.
