At Tarro Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Cultural Activities
Our school proudly participates in a variety of cultural activities throughout the year that celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. We engage in important events such as Reconciliation Week, Sorry Day commemorations, NAIDOC Week, Indigenous Literacy Week and a Wonnarua language program. Through these meaningful experiences, we foster respect, understanding and connection to the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Sporting Opportunities
There are many sporting opportunities for students to participate in throughout the year. Swimming, cross country and athletics are held at school, zone, regional and state levels. Other sporting opportunities include PSSA soccer, touch football, netball and league as well as a variety of gala days throughout the year
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classrooms to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Student Voice and Leadership
Our School Captains and Junior AECG leadership team play an important role in representing student voice. They contribute to important discussions and decisions that help shape our school environment.
Lunchtime Clubs
At our school we offer a number of lunchtime clubs that students can be involved in.
Gardening Club, Walking Club and Passive Play provide fun and engaging opportunities
for students to develop new skills, express creativity and connect with others in a supportive environment.
Debating and Public Speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to complete in zone and regional events.
