Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school

Book Week Parade
Our annual Book Week Parade is a much-anticipated event that celebrates the joy of reading and creativity. Students eagerly participate by dressing up as their favourite book characters and parading proudly around the school grounds. Families are warmly invited to attend and join in the fun, making it a wonderful community occasion that brings everyone together to share in the excitement of stories and imagination. We look forward to seeing many smiling faces and colourful costumes as we celebrate the magic of books!

ANZAC Day March
Each year, we proudly participate in the annual Beresfield ANZAC Day Dawn Service, honouring the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and women. Attending this solemn and respectful event provides students with a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history and the values of courage, mateship, and resilience. We encourage families and community members to join us in commemorating ANZAC Day together, fostering a shared sense of remembrance and gratitude.

Easter Hat Parade
Our Easter Hat Parade is a joyful celebration that brings the whole school community together in a vibrant display of creativity and festive spirit. Students design and wear their own unique Easter hats, showcasing their imagination and enthusiasm. Families and community members are warmly invited to attend, making the event a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the colourful parade. It’s a highlight of the school calendar that spreads happiness and fosters a strong sense of community.

Scooter Track
Our playground has a custom made sooter track available for use during lunch and recess breaks. Fully supervised during both breaks, students can bring their own scooter and helmet or borrow one from the sport shed. There is lots of fun to be had scootering around the track.

Pit Parties
Pit Parties are an exciting and engaging event held once each term, where students work together in teams to tackle challenges designed around our Learning Dispositions of Brave, Collaborative, Innovative, Determined, and Proud. These activities not only encourage teamwork and creative problem-solving but also reinforce and support the learning taking place in classrooms. Pit Parties provide a fun and dynamic way for students to develop important skills and attitudes that contribute to their overall growth and success.
"We are so grateful to be part of this school community. The staff really care about each child’s wellbeing and learning, and the supportive environment has helped our child grow in confidence and thrive both academically and socially.” — a parent of Tarro Public School
