Jump On into Early Years Schooling (JOEYS)
Transition Program
Starting school is an exciting milestone for children and their families. To support a smooth and positive start to school life, our school offers a comprehensive Pre-Kindergarten (P-K) Transition Program.
Program Overview
Our weekly P-K Transition Program begins in Term 2 and runs for 25 weeks. Each session lasts for 2 hours and is designed to help children and their families become familiar with the school environment, routines, and expectations. At the conclusion of the JOEYS program, children will transition into a formal orientation program in a kindergarten classroom, engaging in gross and fine motor, language and creative arts activities.
Support and Expertise
The program is supported by our dedicated school staff, along with specialist professionals including an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a Speech Therapist. This team works closely with students to support their individual developmental needs, ensuring they are ready and confident for kindergarten.
Family Engagement
We believe that involving families is key to a successful transition. Throughout the program, we work collaboratively with parents and carers to provide guidance, answer questions, and share strategies to support learning and wellbeing at home and school.
Kinder Expo
To further support families, we host a Kinder Expo where we showcase the unique programs, facilities, and opportunities our school offers. This event provides a wonderful chance for families to meet staff, explore classrooms, and learn more about how we can partner together for your child’s success.
Our Commitment
Our P-K Transition Program is designed to ensure every child has the best possible start to their schooling journey. We look forward to welcoming your family and supporting your child as they take their first steps into school life.
