Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

Berry Street Education Model

Tarro Public School has been trained in Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) to support wellbeing in our school by providing strategies for teaching and learning that enable teachers to increase engagement of students and successfully improve self-regulation, social relationships and wellbeing.

All teachers are implementing the key strategies of Morning Circles, Positive Primers and Brain Breaks into their classroom routines. These routines are a powerful mechanism to practically build belonging and a sense of inclusion as foundational steps towards a modern and culturally responsive education system.

Grow your Mind

At Tarro Public School, we use the Grow Your Mind framework which uses neuroscience and storytelling to create innovative and engaging mental health strategies to enhance the social and emotional wellbeing of children, educators and families. Information and resources are accessible via the Grow Your Mind platform, including Professional Development for staff around the program and lessons to teach their students.
