Events
School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- school orientation days
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- Harmony Week and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- graduation and other celebrations.

Book Week
Book Week is a special time at Tarro Public School, where we come together to celebrate a love of reading and storytelling. Throughout the week, students enjoy a range of engaging activities, including a much-loved costume parade and book fair. These events help to spark imagination, promote literacy, and build a strong reading culture across our school community.
NAIDOC
Each July, Tarro Public School proudly celebrates NAIDOC Week, honouring the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In partnership with families and community, we share culture through storytelling, art, dance, and meaningful experiences, reflecting our ongoing commitment to deepening cultural understanding and strengthening Aboriginal education.
P&C meeting
Join our P&C. Meetings are held in the Tech Hub from 6–7pm on Wednesdays in Weeks 4 and 8 each term. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
